Account Manager; Housing

The Account Manager will sell sponsorship and exhibition opportunities at Housing, Europe’s largest housing festival and the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual conference and exhibition. The successful applicant will work as part of our sales team, managing and expanding an existing client base and selling across new features at the event including Tech@Housing. Central to the role is new business, targeting top tier companies, as well as continuing relationships and upselling current clients.

Role & Responsibilities:


Sales objectives;

  • Exceeding team and individual sales targets set by the Sales Manager
  • Preparing and executing a structured sales campaign
  • Selling exhibition space and sponsorship packages over the telephone and face to face sales with presentations
  • Achieve and exceed KPIs, set by manager
  • Exceed at least 100 minutes of call time, when office based
  • Achieve minimum of 8 meetings per month, 5 must be new business
  • Accurately forecast and track key sales metrics – reporting weekly to Sales Manager
  • Conduct client re-book for each event to a set target
  • Managing specific sectors across the events, identifying new business opportunities within sectors through own research to grow these sectors in line with overall targets
  • Contributing ideas and develop opportunities that will assist in the growth of the business
  • Mentoring junior members of the team in sales process


Administrative duties;

  • Updating and maintaining sales pipeline with all sales activity, using CRM system
  • Updating and maintaining sales ledger with current sales
  • Ensuring all contractual paperwork is completed accurately and sent to Sales Manager
  • Assisting Accounts/Finance team in chasing payments or outstanding invoices
  • Chasing marketing collateral/info from clients as required


Key account responsibilities;

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for and all matters specific to your key accounts
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and sponsors
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives


Competitor events;

  • Attending competitor events as required with a view to generating revenue, incorporating:
    • Researching event beforehand to assess number of potential leads/targets
    • Conducting minimum of 20 face-to-face meetings per day at competitor events
    • Compiling report of attendance, results of visit and projected return


Industry knowledge and OMG representation;

  • Ongoing development of industry knowledge
  • Weekly/monthly reading of Inside Housing & Social Housing to facilitate more effective client conversations
  • Participate in a weekly quiz, run by the sales managers to test knowledge of housing news
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of OMG portfolio products
