Having studied a Computing and Business Management degree at university, I decided to pursue my passion for accounting and finance. This led me to further studying to become a fellow at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – more widely known with the acronym and designatory letters FCCA.
I started my career in sporting events at the Rugby Football Union and progressed to International Management Group (IMG), which has a wide and varied portfolio ranging from client representation, conversional sports, fashion, mass participation events, culinary events and figure-skating championships, right through to joint ventures in markets like China and Brazil.
It was at IMG that my passion grew for events on small and large scales and I was able to hone in on key skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership and, most importantly, accounting for events. I also acquired a vast amount of experience in the sector. I understand and am appreciative of all the elements that need to come together and work in unison for a successful event.
I have worked my way through various divisions, from management accountant to finance manager, before leaving IMG as financial controller. This gave me a breadth and depth of knowledge, understanding, commercial and financial acumen in the sector.
I believe in Ocean and could not be more convinced that this is a great time to be part of the team.
I live in Surrey with my family nearby. I love watching movies and I am also a keen reader. My favourite author at the moment is Stephen King and I am currently working my way through his earlier work, having started with his more recent writing. I also have a passion for travelling and experiencing different cultures.
